Frequently asked questions

Is VoxQuote in the App Store or Google Play?

No — VoxQuote is a Progressive Web App (PWA). Instead of downloading from an app store, you add it to your home screen from your browser. Upside: it installs in 30 seconds, updates automatically in the background, and you never wait for app-store approval.

Does the PWA get microphone and camera access like a native app?

Yes. On modern iOS (Safari) and Android (Chrome/Edge/Brave), PWAs can request microphone access for voice quoting and camera access for photo capture. The first time VoxQuote asks, you tap Allow. After that it behaves like a native app.

Does it work offline?

The app shell is cached so VoxQuote opens even with no signal. Draft quotes created offline queue up and sync when you're back online. Voice transcription needs a connection because the audio is processed server-side — draft the job notes offline, send once you're in range.

Does it get push notifications?

Yes — on Android and desktop, and on iOS 16.4+. You'll get a push when a quote is viewed, accepted, or paid. On older iOS versions you still see the updates in-app; push requires iOS 16.4 or later.

Can I install it on my iPad or laptop?

Yes. On iPad, tap the Share icon in Safari and 'Add to Home Screen'. On macOS Safari 17+, Chrome, Edge and Arc, the address bar shows an install icon that adds VoxQuote to your dock. Works on Windows 10/11 and Linux too.

Why a PWA instead of a native app?

Two reasons. One: no App Store gate means we can ship bug fixes instantly, and half of AU tradies use Android where Apple-only apps (like ServiceM8 or GRUNT) don't work. Two: one codebase means faster feature shipping — VoxQuote's new features land on your phone the same day they're built.

Still not sure? Try the web version first.
